Cooking Class FAQS

When are the classes, and how long do they go for?

All classes are listed on the website including the dates and times. New dates are released every couple of weeks so if you miss out on one, you are welcome to go on the waiting list for the next one.

Each class runs for 2.5-3hrs including time to sit down, relax and enjoy the delicious meal together in a beautiful setting!

What do the classes consist of?

Thrive’s classes are all about delicious food and collaboration – so we all cook together and eat together!

Each class includes a cooking experience, which means you will be taught how to cook a number of dishes depending on the class type. You will also be provided with information on nutrition throughout the class. Once you meet and get to know me – you will learn very quickly that I am extremely passionate about healthy food – so I am always excited to share this with others. The class also includes a sit down lunch together with the group and take home recipe cards so you can recreate the delicious dishes at home!

How many are in each class?

Classes are based on small groups so you can get the best out of the experience. There is a minimum of 2 people and maximum of 4 people. If a class has less than 2 people, it may be subject to cancellation and rescheduled.

At each class there will be two cooking stations set up, so you will partner with another person to cook the menu.

If you would like to book a class for more than 4 people, this may be able to be accommodated. Please contact me directly in regards to this.

Where are the classes held?

The classes are held in my home in Burnside, Sunshine Coast. You will be provided with the address a few days before your class. It is important to me that you come into my world and see my little pocket of paradise – I live and breathe the healthy lifestyle and I want to share this with you.

If you are not from the area, please let me know and I will be sure to suggest things you can do before or after the class. 

Can I come alone?

Of course! These classes are all about the experience, they are informative, fun and full of delicious food!

You will be partnered with another person in the class on your cooking station and together you will cook dishes on the menu.

If a class has less than 2 people, it may be subject to cancellation and rescheduled.

What does it mean by wholefoods?

Wholefoods are all the foods that are in their natural state and unprocessed, the food groups include Fruit, Vegetables, Grains, Beans, Nuts and Seeds, Herbs and Spices. The classes take a wholefoods approach, meaning all the dishes are RICH in wholefoods. This is the food that has the most nutrients that our bodies thrive off!

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Certain dietary requirements can be catered for, please let me know prior to booking and I will liaise with you directly about this.

The classes are 100% wholefoods meaning they are suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

All classes with the exception of the Vegan Feast can be made gluten free, however unfortunately the classes are not suitable for celiacs or other allergens as I cannot guarantee cross contamination from the cooking stations and the supplier of the products. 

Do I need to bring anything?

The only thing you need to bring is your best attitude to learn all about wholefoods!

Wear comfy clothes and shoes as you will spend most of the time on your feet.

Are the classes suitable for kids?

The classes are suitable for teenagers and up, if you have younger kids who may be interested – please reach out to me to discuss.

Please note that it is the parents’ responsibility to watch over their child during the class.

Do I need to know how to cook? I’m new or not confident in cooking.

Not at all. That is what the class is for! You will learn lots of cooking tips and all about food! You are also encouraged to ask questions throughout the class!

Me – Amanda, the Founder of Thrive For Life. I am incredibly passionate about food and specifically all things healthy food!
